Wednesday Mixed was a great day for bowls where the winners of the vouchers on the day were Kev Upton $10 and $5 each to Trevor Gow and Ron Quinton. A big welcome back to Little Ray after travelling North for the Winter. Thursday bowls had 22 players nominate giving us 1 pairs and 3 triples games. Winning rink: Rink 2, Steve Glyde and Des Puls,. Each received $20.00. Losing rink: Rink 3. Trev Ibbett, David O’Halloran and Hermie Franck. Each received $10.00
Yellow Ball Jackpot number was No.4, for the second week, Steve Glyde. Steve was unable to find the Yellow Ball, so we Jackpot from $93.00 next week
In Friday Bowls 2/8 we had the numbers again, with our big money winners being Sid and Eric Cameron with a fine win over Ron Sprudd and Kevin Upton after trailing all game they snatched victory right at the end. And this was a second Friday in a row for Eric Cameron. Good Job.
Saturday saw the Mens Triples Championships kick off where the group of supporters and onlookers were treated to some fine bowls. Graham Green, Matt Bell and Bruce Bell defeated Bungy Waters, Jeff Haskew and Leo Lawson after the score was even on the last end and Greenie drew shot with his last bowl for the win. Barry Sullivan’s team won on a forfeit, Ian Machon’s team had the bye and the other game was postponed due to Earring being away. So the next round will be on again this Saturday. Make sure that you have spoken to your skip and know when you are set to play. Anyone interested in seeing some great bowls call in around lunch time Saturday and enjoy some food and refreshments whilst watching the bowls.
Sunday Chook Run was back on in fine fashion again with Tim Kearney at the helm attracting 26 very keen players. Chook winners were Stumpy, Trevor Ibett and Grahame Richards with the Raffles going to Kev Greening and Grahame Richards. Dave O’Hallaran plucked the $5 voucher for knocking the Jack off the card. As I have said before. If you are a beginner or looking to try bowls, Sunday is the day. For $7 you get a game of bowls, a chance at the winners prize, a chance of a voucher for knocking the jack off the card, 2 raffle tickets and a BBQ lunch. Play starts from 930am with BBQ around 1230pm. No pressure for beginners as we have experienced bowlers that will help you through the game. Get on down and give it a go. For those experienced bowlers that have not yet tried bowls at North Beach, you should come and experience some bowls here. Wednesday Mixed, Thursday Mixed or Friday Mens Pairs.
